Recently, as I was visiting my parallel universe (aka my non-virtual world), I walked into Walgreens and spotted these bEOS Lip Balms. They were on sale for 2 for $5USD. I have many lip balms but never enough since I like to have them scattered all around the house. You know one at the kitchen sink, one by the bathroom sink, nightstand, TV area, computer desk, etc.. You just never know when your lips will be dry.
These lip balms come in three flavors: Honeysuckle Honeydew, Summer Fruit, and Sweet Mint. I bought the Honeysuckle and Summer Fruit. Both are nice and don't have an overpowering scent. The balms are 95% organic and are petrolatum free, paraben free, phthalate-free, and even gluten free! (I actually never knew lip balms contained any gluten; maybe I missed the Pillsbury Biscuit Balms!) They are housed in a little rubber-like egg with a twist-off cap. The balm is domed shape and reminds me of a cue ball cut in half. This shape may look like it would be hard to apply but it isn't. It applies onto the top and bottom lips simultaneously or individually or anyway you want because it conforms to your habit of application.
The texture isn't greasy, oily, or waxy. The dome is hard enough to keep its shape but not hard enough to feel like hard wax. As the balm glides on the lips, it leaves a coating of moisture that is smooth and stays when applied. You can feel the shea butter moisturizing the lips. It feels like a clear coat of moisture that doesn't evaporate within a few minutes. The application is clear so any color can be applied on top without any interference from the balm.
This balm is in the top of my balms list because the packaging is cute and are easy to handle. If you have some arthritic pain or have some difficulty in holding those thin sticks of balm, these are easy on the grip because of the rubber non-slip container. Also, good for those little munchkins with dry lips!
