A Bunch of Isadora Eye Shadow Quartets

*Post originally written by Olivia J on The Unknown Beauty Blog. If you see this post elsewhere, it has been stolen!**

I mentioned in my other Isadora post that I placed an order for more shadows; this time for the eyeshadow quads.  Yeah, more neutrals but admit it, you too are curious about these neutral quads.  I got the following Isadora Quads ($14USD) from Apothica-Muddy Nudes, Heavy Metal, Coffee Blends, and Cappuccino.

Muddy Nudes are a set of four neutrals with some pink, three of which are satin mattes and one that has shimmer: an ivory, a pink beige, shimmer plummy brown, a cool toned brown.  The colors are soft and natural and lean towards the cool toned side.  If you found some neutral palettes just too warm for your taste then this one could work.  You get a polished make up look with this one but nothing more.  To get a more dramatic or smoky look, I suggest adding the Heavy Metal quad.

Isadora Muddy Nudes

The Heavy Metal quad consists of two shimmer shadows-a brassy silver and golden taupe; and two matte colors-a mousy taupe and a dark charcoal brown.  I see this quad as a great addition to other quads but to wear alone it would be hard on porcelain to medium skintones.  On darker skintones the colors would work for a polished simple eye look.

Coffee Blends are a quartet of matte neutrals but more of the creamy blend of colors: an ivory cream, a milky warm grey, a soft taupe mocha, and a dark espresso brown.  The three colors minus the grey is a basic eye palette.  The grey, I find, is a color that doesn't work well with my skintone (NC20-25) but if you are porcelain to light with pink undertones, the grey could work and so will the rest of the colors.

Cappuccino quad are a set of softly shimmered neutrals: a shimmery soft peach ivory, shimmery milky tea brown, a shimmery medium mocha brown, and a shimmery cappuccino brown.  This one is a nice set of neutrals that can be used alone or in addition to other colors.  It will give you a nude eye look to a basic polished eye make up look.  Nothing fancy but very useful.

If I compare these quads to the 5 pan Isadora Palettes, I would say they are a step down in quality.  The texture is slightly more rough but not enough to say it is bad.  The pigment is just a tad less but still good.  If you are one that hasn't tried this brand then, I would recommend trying them, the sets are nicely coordinated and very wearable.

Disclosure:  The eyeshadows were bought by me.  Links provided for your convenience.
