I Wish I Had a Box of Crayons - Tarte SmolderEYES Eye Defining Pencils

When I was a little girl, I always bought the big box of Crayola crayons with that nifty sharpener in the back.  Opening the box, I would stare incessantly at the rainbow of wax sticks and wondered why I couldn't put the colors on my face.  I just sighed and closed the lid.

How I longed for those crayons because I wanted to do a quick eye look this summer, something that would give depth yet shape.  I couldn't find the right product until I stepped into ULTA which had the Tarte SmolderEyes Eye Defining Pencil Duo with pencil sharpener for $25!  Pretty good considering one of these cost $24 on the Tarte website.

From what I see, there are only two colors available: Bronze-creamy dark brown and Black-shimmery charcoal.  Both have a sponge tip at the end for blending but I prefer to use my digits or brushes.

Both are creamy and apply easily although I find the Bronze to be much smoother due to its non-shimmer quality.  The Black contains shimmer which makes it less pigmented when blended and a bit choppy upon application, still a good pencil to apply shadows upon especially the duochromes ones.  The color does fade slightly but I think that is due to the heat right now, during the Fall/Winter they should last longer.  They are smudgeproof and wear pretty well.

The only negative side to these pencils, I wish there were an entire box of different colors like my Crayola box!
