With the oncoming season of fall and shortening of the days, my makeup senses begin to awaken and I yearn for something I don't have. This time it turns out to be Tarte LipSurgence.
I bought two Tarte LipSurgence ($24USD) products. One is a lip luster in Fever which is a red with micro-sparkles of gold and silver. The other is the True Blood that came out last year. (Yeah, I know I am late to the game.) This color also is a red amd to the eye both pencils may look similar yet they are different enough to own both.
Fever is a sheer and moisturizing formula. The color is buildable to a medium coverage with a sleek shine. The red has a tendency to look warm due to the contents of the warm bits of sparkle but I would say it is a neutral red.
True Blood red is so similar to Fever yet it lacks the sparkly bits and can lean a bit towards a cool toned red but not too cool to look gothically red. This lipsurgence unlike the other one leaves a stain on the lips which I think is reacting to the PH of the lips, thus the coolness of the red. Other than that, this one is a pretty nice red too.
Both are great for the packaging, a big chubby retractable pencil with a light minty scent. Just like a lipstick it swivels up more product but applies easily because of the pencil packaging. Something about pencils makes everything easier to work with and handy to pack. If you are wondering about these and find them pricey, I can say this much, the color never turns murky. Someday, I will predict I will have more than just these two!
