This is my first product I have ever tried from It Cosmetics. I have often watched Jaime Kern, the founder, on QVC and have resisted buying the products by rationalization. After all, I have enough makeup. Obviously, not enough highlighters though.
The formula is infused with micronized pigments of light,
plus skin-loving ingredients including peptides, hyaluronic acid,
hydrolyzed collagen, silk and Vitamins A, C, & E and free of all of
the ingredients that make skin appear older like talc... Free of talc, parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, mineral oil, petrolatum,
synthetic fragrance, and phthalates., the Hello Light Anti-Aging
Radiance Illuminating Powder absorbs oil and shine while blurring away
the look of pores, and fine lines without settling into wrinkles!
The name Hello Light fits it to a tee. Unlike other powders which seem to create the shimmer via glitter and sparkle, this captures light. In a funny way it grabs enough light for itself to give off that glow of skin and not powder. The color is also a skin tone color, not some off-white cosmetic color. The texture is a powder but it feels like a skin care product, meaning I forget it is a powder. There is nothing dry to it nor does it feel like a layer of makeup applied, just feels like my skin.
Which brings me to the warning; I first applied this like my other highlighters which tend to be a bit soft when it comes to that glow and shimmer. This one isn't, it is a concentrated glow; a soft light brush of powder is all that is needed to capture that perfect illumination.
Here, I show it on my eyes. I mentioned I like powder highlighters because they double as a huge eyeshadow. This one, I have to say is one of the best! Not over the top glaringly glowing like a showgirl, just enough to bring a glow.
In this picture you can see how the flash is captured on my cheeks thanks to the powder. Perfect highlight!
I almost forgot to mention, this came with an outstanding brush; one that is angled and densely packed to allow evenly soft application. Not only is it well made, it is synthetic and soft! I am all for synthetic brushes and if they mimic regular hair makeup brushes, all the better!
After winning this highlighter from Beauty Info Zone, I can tell you it has awaken my lemmings for It Cosmetics, not only for their make up products being cruelty-free, but also their brushes! Now, if only I could win the lottery!
