The Black, Silver and Greys: The Eyeliners - Part 5

Black eyeliner is just that, black but why do I have to have so many?  Because there are variations.  Some lean towards a charcoal grey and others towards a silver with a soft shimmer.  Whatever the variation, everyone needs a black eyeliner.

Here is my collection.

Inglot Full Metal Eyeliners 524 -This is a basic retractable wax based metallic pencil in pewter or grey.

MAC Black Russian - This has been discontinued and many brands have come out with something similar including drugstore brands.  This is a long-wearing shimmering black with bits of glitter.

MAC Wolf - This also has been discontinued.  Has that shimmer-glitter grey which looks taupe because of the gold glitter bits.

Smashbox Limitless Liner Smoke - Not a flat black but a shimmery charcoal grey.

Covergirl Flamed Out Ashen Glow - This one is a gel based shimmer grey/khaki.  I thought it looked similar to MAC Wolf (from memory) but really is quite different.

Body Shop Kajal 03 (Silver) - I believe this was a limited edition.  A wax based crayon in a cone shape.  A cool-toned silver.  I like the shape!

Physicians Formula Liquid Metal Eyeliner Black - Liquid black eyeliner with multicolored glitter.

Anastasia Jet (PR sample) - A very deep black in a formula that is easy to work with for a liquid eyeliner, not too thin and watery and not too thick and goopy.  Writes as easily as a calligraphy pen.

Delux Beauty Nilla Black - Discontinued yet still one of my favorite wax based black pencils for its ease to smudge smoothly for a smoky eye or smudged eyeliner.

NYX Pots & Pans - Stainless steel silver.

NYX Slate - Shimmer dark grey.

Stila Smudge Crayon Dazzle - An eyeliner, eyebase and eyeshadow.  The all in one eye pencil with a sharpener housed in the opposite end for easy travel.  Charcoal with shimmer and some glitter.

Laura Mercier Kohl Black Violet - I have had this one for ages and I mean ages.  Probably since the 90's!  A blackened violet which is hard to see from the swatch.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Nude Eyeliners Black - A long-wearing pencil with bits of gold/neutral colored glitter which is hard to see.

Physicians Formula Custom Eye Enhancing Black (Green Eyes) - The same as the nude version except this one has green glitter.

MAC Engraved - The basic black pencil.

Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Chiang Mai - Shimmer charcoal grey.

Pure Kajal Seductive Grey - Another cone shape, wax based crayon in silver.

Pure Kajal Unforgettable Black -Again a cone shape, wax based crayon in black.

Three Custom Color Specialists (3CC) Opaline Creme Eye Definer Aurora - A creme black eyeliner that can also be used on the waterliner.  Hard to see but it has flecks of blue microglitter.

Ultraflesh Black Magic Eyeliner - A snazzy kit with all forms of black eyeliner in matte and shimmer.

My collection of the dramatic black and its family.  I should say that it doesn't matter if it is high end or low end but for some reason I prefer high end when it comes to black because of the intensity of the color and the smoothness of the formula.  Black happens to be one of those staple colors and I am more willing and really admittedly happier in buying a high end one.
