Metallic Finish Water Color Eyeshadows by Osmosis Colour

I received a press release recently on a makeup product which really captured my attention.  Going into ceremonial sacrifice mode (Don't worry, I didn't sacrifice any living creatures) to the Makeup Goddess; I contacted the PR in many hopes and wishes for a sample or two.  I REALLY REALLY WANTED TO TRY the Water Color High Intensity Loose Eyeshadows by Osmosis Colour.

There are five jewel toned colors in the collection of the Water Color Eyeshadows by Osmosis Colour: Amethyst, Azure, Onyx, Pink Champagne, and Topaz.  Each one retails for $14.

Osmosis Water Color Eyeshadows

You might be wondering what makes these so different from regular loose mineral eyeshadows.  Upon application, these pigments will spread into a liquid metal-like high intensity finish.  With color like this you would expect a very dry feeling on the lids, but not with these because the pigments are bound with moisturizing molecules of water.  They are also infused with anti-oxidant rich goji-berry and green tea extacts, leaving your lids comfortable throughout the day.

I got to try two colors, the amethyst which looks more like a bright burgundy and topaz which is a gold.  In the container you can see how the pigments clump together.  This isn't defective, it is the formula.  The amethyst looks like tiny raspberries!  The gold seems to contribute to light!

What you see in the swatches is what you will get on your eyes.  When I first swatched these, all I could think about was the T-1000 in the movie Terminator 2, melting liquid metal.  These eyeshadows are melting liquid metal, only they don't run and stay on the lids very well.

For application, you can use your finger but you will apply too much of it.  I use the three below.  The silicone tip applicator is the best but you can use a sponge tip or the simple q-tip.  I use the goat hair eye brush to blend.  Don't apply the eyeshadow with a brush or a soft chi-chi high end one, you will have a major mess not only on your eyes but your face!

Which Applicator?

The simplest way of application for me is to just apply a large dot on the center of the lid and blend with the brush.  No runny liquid mess or no tight pulling silicone feel, just a smooth layer of moisturizing color!

Here are my eyes with the gorgeous Topaz.  Usually golds can turn murky but since this is a loose form, you get all the clarity and intensity of the color!

And, here is the Amethyst for a colorful smoked look.

If you are into a more subtle finish then see it on Olivia Sr.  She used a subtle wash on her lids and and bottom lash line.

These eyeshadows gets raves for their clarity, brilliance, pigment, and rocking metallic finish!  They never look or feel dry.  They can be layered on top of eyeshadow for a subtle finish or they can be used alone with or without eyeshadow base.  Yes, I forgot to mention, these are formulated to stay on the lids without much extra product or effort.  This is why they are very mature eye friendly.  In fact, this gets Olivia Sr.'s Wise Owl Approval! If you haven't tried the Water Color Eyeshadows by Osmosis Colours, you can find them at Skin Trends one of the authorized dealers.
