Where is the Future of Make Up and the Industry Going?

*Post originally written by Olivia J on The Unknown Beauty Blog. If you see this post elsewhere, it has been stolen by an idiot.*

You have probably seen this all over the web, the Mink 3D Printer created by Harvard graduate Grace Choi.

You know the next decade the 3D printer will be a staple in every home.  And, you know for us makeup junkies, a printer which creates your very own makeup is like having your very very own customized store of makeup dreams!

A printer that will spurt out your very own custom picked color in the form of foundation, eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, etc. into a product which can actually be used. Your makeup world is your pearly oyster!

Shown in the video is a prototype but if this becomes part of every makeup wearing household, you know cosmetic brands will be offering many more makeup goodies in the future.

Brands will begin to offer their own pan size and probably makeup palettes to house the creations in.  Cartridges which only “their” brand offers special pigments to create their own “special” color of makeup.  Imagine Chanel and MAC selling a cartridge which allows you to create the latest fall look on your makeup printer.

You know this will happen, after all, it is one of the easiest ways to get repeat customers.  Pretty soon you will have a room of makeup “crafts” like scrapbooking!

I can see the future of this 3D printer as big step towards a new era in makeup.  And, I don’t see how it can’t.  After all, how many times have you mumbled to yourself, I wish I had the eyeshadow that is photoshopped on that model?  Now, you can with the Mink 3D Makeup Printer!

Are you excited?  I am!
