Matte lipsticks are one of my favorite finishes because they provide pigment and coverage on the lips.  They also provide a finished look to the face when one is wearing very little or just that natural look.  All the attention goes towards the lips.  Yet, matte can be drying or even have a heaviness to their texture which can feel really thick on the lips.

When I had the opportunity to try the Cashmere Matte Long Wear Lipstick Collection ($22 each) by Osmosis Colour and pondered over them as I waited for them to arrive.  Osmosis Colour touts these lipsticks as "irrestibly creamy lipstick supplies a veil of color that lasts through the day without the drying effects of most long wear color."

The two colors I chose to try were the very tame First Kiss ($22) warm nude rose color, nothing washed out and a good everyday color; then I chose the very attention-getting Passion ($22) which is a blue based fuchsia.

The Lipstick

Once these arrived, I tried them on my lips I found lipstick satisfaction!  These are the modern matte lipsticks!

The Colors

There is nothing drying about these lipsticks and thanks to the castor oil, these are pretty much long-wearing and moisturizing at the same time.  Castor oil may sound like an old fashion ingredient but it is one of my favorite for lipsticks because I know it will sit on the lips nicely.  There is also silica to matte out the lipstick and to prevent feathering which works well in this formulation.  There is absolutely NO FEATHERING.

Other advantages I found to these lipsticks is the ease of application, the texture is very smooth and provides full coverage in one swipe, yet it is a very lightweight formula.  You don't have any thickness which many other matte lipsticks have to provide the pigment and opacity.  The colors stay true for hours and, as I mentioned, no feathering.

I honestly have to say Osmosis Colour is really surprising me.  After trying the Water Color eyeshadows from them and now these Long Wear Matte Lipsticks, this line is a cosmetic brand to really pay attention to because it has great products!
