The No-Bullshit Top Ten Beauty Products of 2016

*Post originally written by Olivia J on The Unknown Beauty Blog. If you see this post elsewhere, it has been stolen.*

Choosing the Top Ten for 2016 turned out to be a mix of trustworthy names of the past and new names paving their way into the future of beauty. Here are the top ten not-usual-picks of The Unknown Beauty Blog in no particular order.

1 - Ben Nye Fireworks Fantasy Wheel - You have brands bragging about their great new palette of metallic eyeshadows.  They can brag all they want but nothing beats this Ben Nye color cream wheel for its pigment and quality.  A long time staple for many pro artists, this wheel has improved through the decades thanks to its modern formulation and quality control.  This product is still Made in the USA!!

2 - Momoup Makeup Blotting Papers (PR sample) - This is one of the cutest blotting paper containers on the market.  What also makes it more cute is the fact Momoup offers refills. No need to throw away the cute container, just get a new roll of blotting papers.

3 - Momoup Facial Makeup Remover Pads (PR sample) - These makeup remover pads are large enough to not only remove waterproof eye makeup from both eyes; they will remove makeup off the entire face.  They are also non-drying and lint free!!!

4 - Antiquity BC Soap (PR sample) - These soaps are probably one of the most moisturizing soaps I have tried!  Tabula Rasa is the unscented soap gentle enough to be used as a facial cleanser.

5 - Who Is She Lip Composites - Aldona reviewed this brand and I couldn't leave it out of the top ten.  The colors are modern and the pigment is to die for!

6 - May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon - Again, Aldona reviewed several of the products from this line which she bought with her own money!  Even with the hefty price tag of this cream, she loved it!

7 - Viseart Editorial Brights - This is one palette that houses enough brights for one person.  The texture of these colors are smooth and the pigment is clear and bright that they can be layered on top of each other and still retain their clarity.

8 - Sue Devitt Cosmetics - I know this line was discontinued in 2013 but I couldn't leave it out.  Totally underrated and a line with products which applied like a dream on the mature women.  Also, a line who didn't push 52 different collections a year, the last of one of those quality brand cosmetic lines.

9 - Ben Nye Color Cake Foundation - You might think how old fashioned but makeup in general is an old-fashioned concept dating back to the BC days!  Maybe, this doesn't tickle your fancy because of the lack of fancy packaging and hype.  Well, you are missing out on a great and dependable made in the USA foundation!

10 - Artis Fluenta Brushes - I couldn't leave these brushes out.  After all Olivia Sr. gave her wise owl approval.  I admit I was skeptical about these brushes but that soon changed.  If you haven't tried these brushes, then you don't know how flawless foundation can be applied.  These brushes mimic the airbrush effect!

There you have it, the Top Ten for 2016.  Admittedly, 2016 was a bad year for TUBB.  I might have to bring back my Shit List Saturday.  Who knows, maybe next year I will have The Shit List Top Ten!😉
