I am not sure if Julie has reformulated these glosses to be paraben-free. Mine do contain paraben and I am not dead yet from licking the glosses off my lips as you can determine by this post. The texture of these glosses are slightly looser or less sticky than other glosses I have used. They don't have that option of building up to an opaque finish, pretty much of a sheer finish. I have also noticed that when I apply these on top of my Noir lipsticks, they will pretty much make them bleed. However, with the Bijou lipsticks; these work well. They also have a slight ginger scent which is fine to me since I always eat ginger but if you aren't familiar with it, it could be a bit of an off scent.
Okay, the title made it sound like something nasty and seductive. Nasty-no; seductive-possibly. This is a loose shimmer powder by Hollywood makeup artist Tricia Sawyer. By the sound of it, the words "loose shimmer" may sound like a mess, but this powder is housed in a nifty container which makes the product spill-proof. There are 3 colors: Skinny, Ambitious, and Naked which retail for $22USD which can be found here.
I got this free not because ABT contacted me but because I signed up for their emails and they were giving away a bottle to the first certain number of subscribers. They never contacted me to review this.
Before I begin my review, the PR of Three Custom Color Specialists (3CC) contacted me and yes I got these free. Believe it or not I never tried the concealer/foundations. I don't know why and I really didn't understand why makeup artists raved about these concealers. But now I do. These concealers which double as foundations come in compact form (now with a mirror) at $22.50USD or pan only for $17.50USD. The one on the left is a sample size of concealer #7 and on the right is concealer #3. The sample size is an ample one. When you place an order with 3CC, don't be afraid to request for samples of the concealers to find your perfect match. There is no risk in picking the wrong full size colors, sample them first.
Recently, as I was visiting my parallel universe (aka my non-virtual world), I walked into Walgreens and spotted these EOS Lip Balms. They were on sale for 2 for $5USD. I have many lip balms but never enough since I like to have them scattered all around the house. You know one at the kitchen sink, one by the bathroom sink, nightstand, TV area, computer desk, etc.. You just never know when your lips will be dry.
First of all, do not get this mixed up with squalene, this is squalane with an "a". Squalene is obtained from shark liver oil which also can be used as a moisturizer and in cosmetics. Squalane is the saturated form of squalene and may be obtained from animals but mostly it is obtained from olive oil. Squalane is also more stable and isn't as susceptible to oxidation which makes it ideal as a cosmetic product.
I figured I should review the rest of the stuff I have from Three Custom Color Specialists (3CC).
Three Custom Colors Specialists (3CC) has become an obscure line in the sense that it is hard to get in brick and mortar stores (Nordstrom used to carry it) and online it is available at some etailers but not many; the easiest place appears to be their website. They are a line that has ready-made colors and will make custom colors on several items like lip products, powder products, and cream products. I haven't tried any of the custom made stuff but if you are searching for discontinued colors of lipsticks, concealers, and such. Just send a request to 3CC and they will try to replicate them.
Thinking about makeup relaxes me. I guess it is like meditation even though when you meditate you aren't suppose to be thinking about anything. I tried that and I ended up asleep. So now I just daydream about makeup to ease my mind or to tune out people who are blabbering about uninteresting things. I thought I would let you readers get a peek inside my day dreams!
How can I resist a good sale. Yes, I bought brushes from Soft Surroundings, then the Becca Crème Eye Colours were on clearance for $4.99USD! These are usually priced at $28USD. I thought, "whatta bargain!" The only one that was sold out was Patina. I got the rest but not all are listed on the Becca website. I don't know if some are discontinued or not since I don't pay attention to any Becca news.
Getting these bloggy awards is like collecting stamps from around the world! It thrills me to know that someone other than people from my neighborhood are reading my blog. (Actually, I don't think my neighbors know about my blog.) This time I got tagged by the lovely Helen who from Sweden has a blog called Make It Colorful.
