I really wanted to write the last beauty post for 2010 but my real life got in the way and honestly I am slightly exhausted. (Okay, more exhausted than I care to admit.) So, I hope you will forgive me for making this a non-beauty post.

Actually C is for Christmas and I hope those who celebrate it had a nice one. :-) Okay, back to the original "C". C is for Chanel and I am not talking about the make up. I confess that during the mid 80's early 90's I was a Chanel gal and dressed from head to toe in Chanel. If you saw me today you couldn't tell because I am a jeans and t-shirt gal and don't wear a stitch of jewelry. I am pretty plain except for the makeup!

3CC recently came out with an eyeshadow color that I had been looking for called Bright Eyes. Sold in a set ($37.50) that includes the light clarifier pencil this duo can make the most tired eyes look alive.

I know I am late to the game purchasing ManGlaze polishes ($6.66USD and $13.13USD) but better late than never right? The polishes are all matte which may have you thinking what makes them different from other mattes? I can just buy a matte topcoat and have the same effect. Well, yes and no. Yes, the effect is the same, but the personality is not.

Sobe Botanicals is an indie company that sells mineral makeup and also came out with Walk the Line Gel liners ($7.99USD). Yes, they are vegan and they are not the liquid type, they are gel type, actually more of a silicone cream base type.

With a new big Ulta opening close to me, you would think I lived there! I don't, I just happen to end up there since it is at the grocery store I regularly shop at. Since this Ulta is one of the stores that carry most of the high end brands, I get a chance to look at all the high end eyeshadow primers. Thanks to this looking, I bought three different ones to see how they work: LORAC, Tarte, and Urban Decay.

My first foray into matte nail polish was way back somewhere in the late 70's early 80's, I remember Shiseido came out with a matte red nail polish and I begged my mum to take me to the department store so I could spend my hard earn allowance on it. I remember buying it and applying it but after that I wasn't too impressed because I don't have any other memories of it. I think there was something missing back then that just didn't make the matte-ness appealing. I guess it was just another red polish to me.
