Happy Holidays-A Modern Tree by Mosha Katani, A Holiday Manicure, One of My Favorite Christmas Movies, and a Hiatus

I have to thank Mosha Katani the Queen (Goddess) of Kohl sending me this picture of books symbolizing a Christmas Tree.  I love it!  The symbol of a tree for the holidays is represented by something other than the good old pine tree.  Very modern, chic, and 21st century!  Maybe, I will do one next year in cupcakes, but I don't think it will last until Christmas.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Shadows and Dream Bouncy Blushes

Here are my last drugstore purchases.  I figured I would post these because during the holiday break you will all get antsy and want to just shop at some drugstore to relieve yourself from holiday anxiety.  What better way than to buy makeup that is just making its debut.  Two of them to try are the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Shadows and Dream Bouncy Blushes.

L'Oreal 24hr Infallible Eye Shadows

I waited silently for the L'Oreal 24hr Infallible Eyes Shadows ($7.99USD) to appear here in the good ol' USA.  I actually envied the makeup junkies across the pond who had access to these.  I heard only praises about these shadows and wondered about them.  I wondered about the colors, texture, and pigment.  I didn't have any of the Giorgio Armani shadows similar to these and I wasn't willing to cough up the $$$ since I had spent $36 on Chanel Illusion d'Ombre which I forgot to give a thorough review.

Quick Blurb on Revlon Colorstay Creme Gel Eye Liner

After my last post on the fiasco packaging of the eye kohls, I have to say the Revlon Colorstay Creme Gel Eye Liner ($9.99USD) has a pretty nifty packaging system.

Physicians Formula Kohl Eyeliner Trios

There is a feeling of freedom in drugstore binges.  You don't have some cosmetic counter sales assistant telling you what you need and what will work in addition to the products you want.  You don't have your mind rationalizing against the sales assistant towards some of the suggestions.  In the drugstore you just have yourself and the overwhelming visions of awe when you see new items.

My Drugstore Binge-Maybelline Color Tattoo and Dream Bouncy Blush, L'Oreal Infallible and More

I went on a major drugstore binge today.  I went on an actual hunt for these products from Target to Ulta to Walgreens and nothing.  I figured as my day was dimming to sundown, my luck had turned bad.  Thirsty and tired, I wanted a bottle of Perrier to quench my parched soul.  I decided to pop into CVS and lo and behold...all the cosmetic stuff I had been searching for in brand-spanking new displays.  No one had touched these!!!!  I was the first!!!

What? A Drugstore Concealer that I Like?-Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer

My reasons for avoiding Maybelline have been well documented by my high school friends. The pictures were proof that back in my salad days, foundation colors didn't come in skin tones, they came in sherbet tones of orange and pink.  Maybelline especially had their space on the drugstore rack to tempt the teens to perfect their complexion with their oily concoction of sunken pigments in glass bottles.  I remember one girl who wore this foundation looking like a Oompa Loompa or a pumpkin head.  The other high schoolers called her pumpkin face behind her back.  Sounded mean but I didn't care because she made my life miserable and I thought she deserved it!  Yeah, mean I know but I am person not a saint when it comes to mean girls.  (Good thing back then we had some common sense and never carried weapons!)

This Blog-This Damn Blog, What the Hell?

I contemplated the fate of this blog for awhile. I have been looking at my stats and readership and noticed a few things. Okay not a few, one thing and it is going down, like downtown into the black hole of another universe. For some of you space junkies, this could sound like fun. After all what is in the black hole? Could be a completely different world full of cute puppies and kitties! (<---Just a cute thought that popped into my brain) Or could be all the dream men I ever wanted, waiting for me to grace my presence! Well whatever I am saying in this first paragraph, I did think hard about the two blogs, this one and Into the Palette.

Quick Look-Inglot Full Metal Eyeliners

In my last post on Inglot eyeliners I reviewed the Matte Collection AMC Eyeliner Gels which gave me a mouthful to say.  In this post, I do have some comments about the Full Metal Eyeliners ($13USD) but not as distinguishable.

Stilazzi Christmas Sale Week 4

Well, it is closing in on Christmas and Stilazzi has the 4th and final sale.  This time it is on their airbrush system.  If you have been wanting one, this is a good chance to buy.  Not only are airbrushes used to apply makeup on the face and body, they are used to apply nail polish (with special nail polishes specifically made for airbrushing).  Just a thought there for you nail polish junkies!

Inglot Matte Collection AMC Eyeliner Gel-Are they worth the hype?

Let's face it, when blogs and makeup artist start praising a product you have to believe it will blow your expectations out like a cannonball.  But what happens when that cannonball soars then drops short of its mark?  You begin to analyze why all the praises and what you are doing wrong.

Stilazzi Make Up Case-The Traincase Recommended By Make Up Roadies

When it comes to traincases, I was late to the game. I didn't own one until a few years back. I wanted one for a long time though but never got around to buying one. I substituted my yearning for those fishing tackle boxes which I found were just made for fishing stuff; makeup was shaped differently and never fit right into those compartments. Others I would see at beauty supply stores which sold those brightly colored wigs. I knew from the store it wouldn't carry that good quality traincase. I didn't want one that fell apart within a year due to the flimsy hardware and thin cardboard. I wanted the ones the pros had! Well, if only Stilazzi was around back then, I could have easily have been satisfied.

Nars Blushes-Starting A New Collection

I used to be a faithful Nartian.  I collected the eyeshadows and blushes way back when they first came out.  Then I just strayed.  I ended up purging my collection.  Well, now I am starting back on the blushes but this time realizing that not all the colors will look good on me.  In fact, I thought many blushes looked good on me until someone asked me to make them animal balloons.  That is when I knew blush didn't enhance my face.

Stilazzi Christmas Sale Week 3

Stillazzi is having a sale on their set bags and more.  I reviewed these bags-The Traditional Set Bag and The Pro Set Bag.  Both are great for holding a multitude of beauty items.   They do ship international.

Like My Shoes?-Vintage Anne Klein Couture

Some of you may have wondered what shoes I was wearing in this post (scroll all the way down to the last picture).  I am wearing a pair of Anne Klein Couture mules that I bought long ago, I think in the late 80's.  I remember seeing these on display at the department store beckoning my name.  I didn't have any outfit to go with them but for some reason I had to have them!

Phil Keoghan NOW- His Amazing Luggage

There are two items that I hate to go casual shopping for and those are jeans and luggage.  Shopping for jeans is like a Road Block, it is a task that gets me so frustrated that I just give up.  Many of you know that it takes many brands to try on to find that decent pair that will look good and feel good on the body.  I would rather have an Express Pass for this task.  Luggage is another item I can't stand to shop for because I never find one that really is organized enough.  With the luggage I see, I am usually better off just packing my stuff in a box because that is how some of them are--just an empty open space.  Then, by chance I caught Phil Keoghan on HSN selling his own brand of luggage called NOW or No Opportunity Wasted.  Knowing how much traveling Phil has done with The Amazing Race, I knew that this was the luggage I had to buy.

Stilazzi Discount on Makeup Brushes

Stilazzi is currently having sales on various items each week until Christmas.  This week the sale is the makeup brushes.  Makeup artist Jordan Liberty of Give Good Face is quoted as saying: “What are they made of, anyway? Cocaine and unicorn fur? It’s like massaging your face with a kitten.”  Yes, a kitten without the kitty litter stuck to its tail!  If you would like to see the brushes in action check this out.

I Have the Blues-The Eyeliner Blues

Do you hear my harmonica?  Do you feel it? Yeah, I have the blues.  They are deep and mysterious, they are shimmery and blue.  They line my lash line or color my waterline.  They are my eyeliner blues!

Yes, I Have Some MAC-MAC Paint Pots to be Exact

I had an urge to go to the MAC store to buy some stuff, mostly Paint Pots ($17.50USD).  I had some before but lost patience with them and gave them to someone who really loved them.  I soon realized that I never gave them a full chance.  Therefore, my urges had to be fulfilled and I bought the following:

Something Special for the Little Princess in Your Life-Little BU Nail Polish

When I opened the packet containing these Little BU Nail Polish (£9.95), I practically said, "Awwww"!  Memories flooded my mind of my first dots of polish my mother applied onto my nails.  The deep crimson bottle that magically painted a small part of me, my nails which were important part as a child because it signified a presence of beauty.  Beauty that I could wear to school and stare at on the playground.  I felt SPECIAL!
