Joe Blasco Cosmetics, Conclusion (for now)

How To Use Ultamattes and How To Use the UEM Brush
Disclaimer: The following may sound like a tutorial but really isn't, just my opinion on how something works. You may disagree so don't throw any stones. If you don't like what you are reading don't read it, and void where prohibited by law.
As I become more familiar with many of the pro products especially Joe Blasco Ultamattes, I realize that these products are more detail oriented in application. This may sound tedious but it really isn't. It is just a matter of playtime (practice). If makeup were easy to apply especially the pro brands, there wouldn't be makeup schools.

Joe Blasco Cosmetics, Pt. 4
Ultamattes and the UEM Brush
I have to admit that I have had the hardest time writing a post about these Ultamattes. I must have gone through about seven drafts before the final one. The reason being I can't put into words what I feel about this pro product, well, more pro than any of the other ones I have used because this is really a movie industry product. They have probably been a well kept secret to the general public probably because they can be misinterpreted easily by the makeup novice but to the movie makeup gurus who use these, these Ultamattes rock!

Joe Blasco Cosmetics, Pt. 3
Joe Blasco Lipsticks and Lip Highlighting
Yes, these lipsticks are a pro brand. They come in four formulas: Velvet-creamy and extremely pigmented; Matte-extremely pigmented with a non-reflective surface; Sheer-least amount of pigment for translucent coverage; and Shimmer-same pigment amount as velvet but with reflective and opalescent particles. Are they any different from the department store brands? Yes, when it comes to stability of color. If you have had lipstick especially reds turn to fuchsia or pink on you, Joe Blasco lipsticks won't do this because they do not contain the dyes or stains that react with the PH balance of your skin. So, you see it was never you but the lipstick!

Joe Blasco Cosmetics, Pt. 2
Corrective Pro Touch Highlighters
When I got these, I have to say that they really didn't impress me much. The screw top container housed a pressed tablet of color (36mm), one in lemon yellow (Yellow Protouch) and the other in a creamy orange (Orange Protouch). They didn't look like the usual highlighting colors that I see at cosmetic counters, none of that light diffusing shimmer to them. How can these highlight the skin? Let me just say that if you want a highlighter with no shimmer yet looks like your skin had been shaped by the perfect lighting guys in Hollywood, get these!

Joe Blasco Cosmetics, Pt. 1
Way back before I had a computer, I actually talked face to face with people and interesting topics would pop up in conversations. Once, I met a theater major who was really into cosmetics. I asked her what type of cosmetics she used. I asked because she was a bit heavy handed in her real life application. She mentioned brands that I never heard of-William Tuttle, RCMA, and Joe something or other. I commented, "You mean you don't use Christian Dior, Borghese, Chanel?" "No," she replied, "because I am a thespian." She really put an emphasis on the last word to the point where I knew her cosmetic world and mine were totally different. I was not a thespian, therefore I didn't know the brands she used, making me unworthy!

Oh Si! Si! More Lip Tars!
I ignored resisted caved and bought some of the new OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) Lip Tars. I really did hold off purchasing the new colors because I felt I didn't need them. I was doing well until I had a strawberry milkshake. I gazed at the soft creamy swirl and realized, "Hey, it looks like the Hush Lip Tar!" I took it as a sign (more like an excuse) to buy the tars!
