Sian Richards Lipwear Nudism Palette ($120) is a pro brand item. If you aren't familiar with her, she is a movie makeup artist. She recently worked as the makeup designer for the movie Sinners and The Naked Gun with Liam Neeson! I also reviewed her foundation palettes a few years back.
The reason why I call this a multi-verse palette is because of its ability to work in any parallel universe and all skin tones due to its high concentration of pigments. It is the complete opposite of the majority of Asian makeup lines.
I know $120 sounds steep for a lip palette, but consider how much luxury makeup brands are charging for a 3 gram stick of lipcolor. This palette contains the amount of 20 or more full size lipsticks which are made to last for years. The palette contains 10 colors from corals to deep mauve. The colors may look warm, but they lean towards the neutral spectrum. The textures consist of glossy to semi-matte. They can also be mixed with other makeup products from foundation to pigments.
Even though this is a lip palette, the colors can be used as cream blush. If I cross the border to Mexico or Canada, I can use these as eyeshadow and so can her other lip palettes especially the dark colored palette called Lipwear Lavish. There is also a light vanilla scent to these.
The Colors
- Gaia -milky pink coral
- Luna - pink lavender
- Athena - muted rose
- Aurora - sandy rose
- Hera - soft mauve
- Venus - muted sandy pink coral
- Ceres - burgundy brown
- Artemis - deep rose
- Persephone - wine
- Vesta - muted deep lavender
These colors wear well and they are mature skin (wise owl) friendly. Just use your finger if you are applying it as a blush and use the various lip brushes from silicone to synthetic when using as a lip product. Just remember, these lip products are pigmented so start with less than you are used to and add more if needed. You can always thin it down with clear gloss or add shimmer with one of your shimmer highlighters.
The palettes have been redesigned to have removeable inserts and better seals. This is the same for the foundation which had a tendency to dry out. You can also buy an empty palette (The Hermetic) with these inserts included, a great way to downsize cream products.
Like I said, If you haven't tried Sian Richards products, you are missing out on a great and everyday wearable pro brand makeup line. She has created more products since my last review way back in 2019. Check her line out here. (No affiliation, just a fan!)
