You may be slightly disappointed that I don't have any cool Halloween stuff to share. Actually, that is a lie, I did do a Halloween nail polish post. And, don't you hate how I try to keep the Halloween theme with the word "boo-tiful"? Anyway, I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween. Recently, I received some goodies from the beautiful Kelly.
BeautyStory had a sale. I had been curious about these creams because these were a 3-way (eyes, lips, cheeks) usage item and not the usual 2-way cheeks and lips item. Il Makiage has three colors of this menage-a-trois cream. I bought two of the colors: Mauve-lavender and Burgundy-self explanatory color.
When BeautyStory had a sale on Il Makiage, I just had to try the stuff because I liked the eyeshadows and blushes. I bought the TV Touch Concealers because it had been raved by many artists back in the hey day. Yeah, I know it was back in the 1980's-1990's, but the reformulation and repackaging of the product could bring the product into the 21st century. Right?
I bought the Tarte QVC TSV a few weeks back because I wanted the Super Fruit Infused Natural Cheek Tint really bad. I remember having the regular Tarte Cheekstains way back when they first started and noticed now that I didn't have them anymore for some reason. I think the colors didn't really look good on me. Luckily, this one turns out to be the perfect one. Why? The color looks dewy but not really too frosty and shimmery. It looks like a skin tone blush color, making my cheeks look like a part of my face and not jumping out of my face. Whenever, I put colors that I think will look good, they actually end up looking like my butt cheeks and that makes my face look like well you-know-what! Doesn't make me feel good at all.
Thanks to the lovely Kelly, I (*jumps up and down with glee*) got to play with the Barry M Instant Nail Effects. I did get more goodies and will show you in a future post. At the moment though, I found my nails appropriate for the Halloween look.
If you are looking for a travel friendly cream eyeliner palette with staying power and not to mention colors that are staples in anyone's makeup wardrobe, look no further. Senna Cosmetics has the perfect palette that measure 2" x 3 1/2" (5.1cm x 8.9cm). The palette may sound small but the size of the pans are the same as the average small eyeshadow-26mm. The compact includes a mirror and two brushes: an angled push eyeliner brush and an eyeshadow brush. They are useful in a pinch but I would suggest using your own brushes.
I thought about this post and postponed it for a long time because it didn't seem important. I don't know how helpful an eyeliner post for a natural eye look can be when the majority of makeup junkies love their black eyeliner including me. However, when a friend asked me to pick out an eyeliner that would just define her eyes for that natural eye look seen on television and movies, I thought maybe it isn't a dumb post after all.
If you remember from my first posts, I mentioned Ben Nye stuff as one of the first pro lines introduced to me way back in the heavily shoulder-padded 80's. The pigmented colors actually accentuated my padded shoulders and not to mention wildly colored burgundy/black/platinum hair. Everything looked balanced and I felt good! Obviously, what felt good then, I can't do now because I am not wearing the same clothes (thank god) and my hair, still colored, is in an actual human hair color. I am tamer and my taste in makeup has become more tame, I think.
These are the mini polishes which come in an array bold colors retailing for $5 each on the Faces Cosmetics website. The cute little plump bottles contrast with the art deco long-handled nail enamels in the line which made me look at the polishes with inferiority. I just thought smaller size meant skimping on quality for some reason but it only means a smaller size packed with the same ease of application and more depth in color.
As I said in my first post, Faces Cosmetics not only has a large array of eyeshadows, they also have over 150 colors of nail polishes. I suggest that if you haven't tried this line of polishes, please try because the quality of them are as good or even better than the very high end cosmetic counter lines but at a fraction of a price ($5-$9).
Did you know Faces Cosmetics has a large assortment of nail polishes? The line has over 150 different colors and each season they add trendy new ones to their collection. I did get a chance to try a couple of these thanks to Faces Cosmetics themselves. Yes, I did receive these really as a thank you for mentioning the Faces Cosmetics eyeshadows. Funny how karma works! It is my choice to review these and I chose to do so because this line has polishes that I have to say rarely gets mentioned and really needs a BIG SHOUT OUT !!!!
The previous post was about the makeup and this one is about the nail polish. Looking at my previous post, I can see my eyes look as though they have been punched or I look drunk. I hoped the polishes were much better.
