Jung Saem Mool Artist Eye Palette Soft Nude

Jung Saem Mool is a well known makeup artist in Korea. She is known for enhancing one's natural beauty whether it is for fashion, film, television, or music. She has her own makeup academy which has graduated many to work in the professional field of beauty. Recently, she had been a judge on the makeup show Just Makeup showing on Prime Video.

Although, her line can be found on Amazon, many of the items can only be bought in South Korea. So, when she introduced her Artist Eye Palette in Soft Nude, I ordered it right away. I had many consecutive sleepless nights waiting for it to arrive into my hand.

The palette wasn't the usual gradation of beiges. This was the perfect variety of colors in various different finishes to enhance fleshtones for the lighter end of the complexion spectrum.

For darker skin tones, Jung Saem mool applies the other nude palette, the Glam Nude. I have included her video tutorial at the end of this post.

Even though this is labeled as an eye palette, it isn't restricted to the eyes. Jung Saem Mool and many of the K-Beauty products can be used anywhere on the face. Eyes to lips, lips to eyes, cheeks to both eyes and lips. This is what I like about K-beauty.

The entire palette consists of smooth creamy powders with the exception of the shimmer Morning Dew which is more of a soft dry balm. A brush can be used for application, just not in the usual swirl-into-the-color method. Patting the powder into the brush as Jung Saem Mool does is what works for this. Me, I just find it simpler and faster to use my finger, then blend with a brush. The formulation of these powders are perfect for skin ranging from the wise mature to the youthful wrinkle-free.

The colors in the palette offer cool to warm, matte to shimmer.
  • Whisper - Just a whisper of pink, perfect for an eye base, highlighter, or to lighten dark color.
  • Modish - Light cement-gray taupe. A soft contour color or just that one and done eyeshadow.
  • In The Air - Matte based pink-peach with gold sparkles.
  • Fog Brown - A brown that has a touch of burgundy. Brown but not brown in the sense of too brown.
  • Morning Dew - A golden shimmer peach in a non-greasy balm formulation. Use it anywhere including the lips.
  • Oat - Beige to blend eyeshadow or use as a soft blush or a one-and-done eye look.

What I like about this palette isn't just the colors, it is the formulation and how it sits on bare skin. I don't wear much foundation anymore. I am just lazy. This palette works on bare skin whereas some other brands which I have tried do not. (I will discuss this more deeply in a future post.) This is why this palette has survived my declutter; it works with and without foundation.

As with many K-Beauty products, the pigment isn't the driving force for beauty products. If you want pigment, go for Natasha Denona or some other western beauty brand. If you want to look like yourself, try Jung Saem Mool.

I bought this one from Olive Young (referral link). The price varies but with coupons and discounts you can get it cheaper than some luxury western brands.
