Red Chamber: Cream Powder Eyeshadows & Beauty Tools

I have finally found an eyeshadow in the right color, perfect texture, and mature-eyes-friendly: Red Chamber Haruki Multi-Purpose Cream Powders. If you haven't read my previous posts on this brand, please check them out here and here.

Again, this is a clean beauty brand that has already formulated their products to follow the EU cosmetic standards. These cream powders do not contain any talc.

These are Multi-purpose which can be used anywhere on the face from eyes, cheeks to lips. I just prefer to use them as eyeshadow, although, they are nice colors for the lips. The texture borders on the powder side but never completely reaching it, thus keeping a creamy texture. They are more powdery than the cream products I have from them.

To use them as eyeshadow, I would recommend wiping the lid area of oils first and/or using a silica powder to absorb any. You can use an eyebase with these for better adhesion. Finger application is the best. You get the concentrated amount and it can be blended with a brush. There is no fallout. They are a dream to apply!

The colors:
  • Veiled Dawn - medium brown with a very slight wine undertone with fine silver micro-glitter.
  • At Ease with Yosh - shimmery purple taupe and a topper in gold sparkle. (The purple taupe is the one I had been searching for in color AND texture!)

The line has many more of these Cream Powders, and Red Chamber has actually come out with a line of eyeshadows which include the eye base. I hope the products will be available at some US site soon. These cream powders vary in price from $15.99 to $30.99, so shop around.

And, yes I bought them at Yami which I will leave a referral link later. I am not finished thanks to Yami's pricing and temptations.

After buying my Red Chamber items, I had bought enough from Yami to be qualified for their gifts with purchase. I received the Red Chamber's three synthetic makeup brushes!

I am quite shocked these would be gifts since they retail any where from $19.99 to $29.99 each. They aren't to be ignored even if you have to pay for them. They are manufactured with top of the line technology from Japan and Germany.

To be specific, BASF manufactures the synthetic fibers of these brushes. I have to admit I haven't paid attention to them since the video and cassette tape days. (I was actually more of a Memorex fan!) BASF makes makeup brush hairs now.

They look and feel like real hair. Now, I have some blue squirrel brushes that I bought way back before the new millennium. I thought those brushes were the greatest, but these synthetics are just as soft.

They are also very well made. The ferrules are sturdy and the handles are strong plastic. You may not like plastic. If brushes aren't crimped well around the handle, especially wooden ones; the wood expands and contracts when washed and the handle begins to split. (I still have an Alan Goolman brush from the 1980's that is still going strong thanks to its well-made construction.) Plastic handles prevents handle breakage and splitting. Another good thing about synthetics, they are easy to clean and dry quickly. They also don't have that wet dog hair smell of natural hair ones. And another good point, they don't poke. You know how some natural bristles feel like they are poking you? Synthetics don't.

If you are wondering about these brushes compared to Artis, these are actually softer!

Red Chamber has 3 main synthetic brushes: Dual-end blush/highlighter, round-tip concealer/lip/cream blush brush, and an angled eyeshadow brush. The dual-end brush is the the same as the eyeshadow brush.

Even if you aren't into Red Chamber's makeup, take a look at their makeup brushes. The collection is minimalistic and effecient. I bought all my stuff from Yami.(referral link)
