HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 2010 is Here!!!

I just want to wish everyone a great new year. The year ahead will pass by so quickly that you will wonder what has happened, but while you are living the minutes; take time to realize that there are exciting things going on in life. Well, it may not be to you but just take a breath once in awhile and just watch the wind blow and hear the rustling of the leaves. Sometimes, it is just nice to be as simple as possible when there are so many things that can drive you crazy.

Me, I am just amazed that my blog is still here and I have something to write about. My diary never lasted this long! I hope that I have many more months to bore everyone to death or put people to sleep. LOL In the meantime, enjoy the palette that exists in a parallel universe!

HAVE A SAFE 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Julie Hewett Lipsticks and Lip Pencils

I figured since I had the Bijou lipsticks up, I should have the rest of the lipstick pictures up. I will eventually have all the other stuff up in due time. Unlike the Bijou lipsticks which come in a non-dressy black case, Julie Hewett's Icons, Sheers, and Noirs come in a luxurious gold casing that looks like expensive jewelry. Pop this one out of your purse in the ladies room or at the table and watch out for the curious glances.

Il Makiage Eyeshadows and Blushes

There is a line that many people overlook nowadays since there are more lines that are competing for your attention, but the one line that I remember growing up in the 70's-80's while reading Vogue was Il Makiage. Ilana Harkavi created the "makeup artist" line in 1972 called Il Makiage. Since then it has been featured in every fashion magazine and has touched the hands of many famous artists including everyone from Way Bandy to Francois Nars. In fact, the majority of Francois' kit contained Il Makiage before he had his own line. Il Makiage influenced more than the make up artist, it influenced Chanel; the color Chanel Vamp had been in the Il Makiage line long before it was hyped as Vamp. Whatever the color, Il Makiage probably had it first.

I think some of you may want to know how deep or how wide the inside of these Zpalettes are.

Vincent Longo Eye Pencil Duos

Did anyone notice that Vincent Longo stuff is getting hard to find in brick and mortar stores? Or maybe it is at obscure places that I don't shop at, shame on me for not scouring those places but I will as soon as I clone myself. How can Sephora drop a line created by such a good looking dude?

Lakshmi Eye Kohls

I would first like to wish everyone Happy Holidays! Happy Hanakkuh! (belated) Merry Christmas! Happy Kwanzaa! And even Happy Festivus! And any other holiday celebration I may have missed.
Yes, like television, my blog is going into repeat mode for the holidays. I am taking some of my reviews from MUA and highlighting them on this blog. One of the very obscure review(s) would be my Lakshmi kohls.

Joe Blasco's Special FX Artistry To Be Shown on Mystery Diagnosis

This is just a little blurb for people wondering what Mr. Joe Blasco is up to?

Well, remember the Seinfeld episode, The Burning (season 9 episode 16) where Kramer and Mickey have to act out certain diseases in front of medical students, and the students have to guess what that disease is? Discovery Health Channel's Mystery Diagnosis always reminds me of that episode. Although, it isn't funny in real life and life threatening, you can be assured that the diagnosis will be found. The shows that will air in January and February 2010 in Hi-Def has a master FX makeup artist Joe Blasco recreating the disease effects.

Joe Blasco and RCMA Foundations-A Brief Guide

I first posted this guide on Makeupalley but as you know there are so many reviews that they get lost in the shuffle. I am reposting it here and hope people find it helpful.

Joe Blasco and RCMA are two of my favorite brands for foundations. Why? Because they are highly pigmented, 55% versus the 35% of cosmetic counter brands. They can easily be customized with other brands or themselves. And, they look like true skin color in photographs. For makeup artists who are starting out, the RCMA palettes are the best to get. One complaint I hear about RCMA is that it is cracked and looks dry in the container. Never fear, the foundation is best used when scooped out and softened onto stainless steel palette. In fact, for any makeup artist you should be scooping out your foundations to avoid cross contamination. (I have seen many "fakeup artists" that have a kit that I swear have something growing in them!)
