Orbiting the Orbital Ridge

I covered the orbital ridge many times in my various tutorials on Into the Palette but for some of you who missed it, I will cover it again.  If you look in this post here, I mention various brushes that can aid in shading the orbital ridge.  Now, you may be wondering what the hell is the orbital ridge and why is it important.

Some More Twaddle

Okay, so the Oscars are over and for that matter the Hollywood awards month.  I admit my blog is low on those posts and it is mainly because I am on the B-List of blogging.  But, once in a blue moon, I will get some press releases.  I thought about posting and I couldn't because I didn't watch any of the awards shows.  I AM SO SORRY!

A Quick Look at the February Starbox

This was my third month with Starlooks monthly Starbox and I have to admit it would have been my make or break box.  If this box didn't capture at least more of my attention than last month's which you can read here, I would cancel.  What do you think I did?

Now Time for Some Twaddle

The state of this blog at the moment is slow.  Of course, it has never been that quick, but it will be slowing down because I am doing other stuff. I have some more stuff to review, yet for the life of me my brain refuses to go that route.  I might as well not fight my mind and just go with the flow.

How to Lipstick

With HD television and photography and film getting sharper, distinguishing colors are becoming more clear. It is now more important to create and make any part of the face appear three dimensional. But,without having it look too obvious. Unless your goal is some editorial fashion look, the colors used should enhance. This will allow the face to stand out more naturally and will look good in real life and in photos. I showed in this post how eye shading can create the illusion of depth. After all, making the eyes as pretty as possible is important since they are windows to the soul. And your lips are as important because they speak the words of the soul. Therefore, they need to as much attention as the eyes. You can make your lips look scrumptious without pouting or imitating a groper fish. You just need to have some basic products on hand.

A Bit Under the Weather and Some Other Notices

Sorry for the lack of original posts.  As you know it is New York Fashion Week and I am getting press releases of some of the hairstyles done by Odile Gilbert whom I have admired for ages.  I thought I could do some of my posts at the same time but I am a bit under the weather and my brain is not functioning properly due to its medicated state.  Here is an example of how it is functioning at the subconscious level:  I had a dream I was old and grey and kidnapped by aliens only to realize in the spaceship I had forgotten my eyeliner!

Cleaning and Modifying My Vibrating Sponge

I know you are sick and tired of hearing about my new battery operated best friend, the Touch Face (which I have reviewed here and here), but I figured you might want to know how to clean the sponges and also how I modified mine a bit.  No, I didn't put a turbo engine on mine, although I wished that I could.  I actually made it more powder friendly.

Feeling the Allure with Eden Allure Argan Oil Products

Argan oil appears to be THE multi-purpose beauty oil of the century.  I can't complain, I like it.  Okay, I love it. The oil has the perfect viscosity for skin, never too greasy that it leaves a residue only to be wiped off and never too thin leaving no moisture.  Argan oil leaves the skin moisturized and supple without any residue.  This is why it is one of the great oils to have if you are a beauty consumer.

How to Eye Shadow

Long ago in makeup land, eyeshadow meant exactly that creating shadows on the eyes for depth and illusion.  Now, eyeshadow is the general term for any color and any color will color the eye area.  I am all for that and love to play with eyeshadows but as I mentioned before, I am all about how eyeshadows can create illusions.  And, I need all the illusions possible since I am getting closer to old age!

Jouer Cosmetics-Just Starting an Eyeshadow Collection

I had tried Jouer Cosmetics long ago when they had a small collection of cream products.  The line left a memorable impression because the cases actually clicked together like Lego bricks.  I thought that was clever.  Then I lost touch with the line.  Shame on me!  Luckily, I have been reacquainted with the line thanks to B-Glowing's sale.
