Deconstructing Your Own Natural Hair Color - Part 3

*Post originally written by Olivia J on The Unknown Beauty Blog. If you see this post on another site, it has been stolen!*

If you read the first parts, you have determined your natural hair color level.   A very important number to remember because without this, you are pretty much throwing a dart at a haircoloring board with the hopes that it will turn out the way it is shown on the box.

Your Natural Hair Color

You have also learned about the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.  These colors are also part of your hair.  Now let’s break down your hair color within the levels given.

  • Level 1-Black = Blue (brown)

  • Level 2-Black/Brown = Blue/Violet (brown)

  • Level 3-Very Dark Brown = Violet (brown)

  • Level 4-Dark Brown or Dark Redhead= Red/Violet (brown)
  • Level 5-Medium Brown or Medium Redhead=Red (brown)

  • Level 6-Light Brown or Light Redhead= Red/Orange (brown)

  • Level 7-Dark Blonde = Orange (brown)

  • Level 8-Medium Blonde = Yellow/Orange (brown)

  • Level 9-Light Blonde = Yellow (brown)

  • Level 10-very light blonde/white (not grey) = Yellow/White (brown)

Do you see how your hair color is a variation of brown?  Do you also see how the primary colors make up your hair?

Fascinating, isn’t it? Hey, did you fall asleep? (*POKE*)  Remember, all this because it will all come together in the hair coloring puzzle!

As always, any mention of this blog will give an independent angel its wings or a rockin' angel a cool electric guitar!

*Disclosure: I don’t claim to be some great hair guru.  I just like to explain difficult beauty stuff.
