I thought I did a post on Julie Hewett Eye Pencils, but I guess I was thinking about Julie Hewett's Lip Pencils. Well, here is the post and I hope the swatches help, although they may vary due to your monitor. The eye pencils retail for $15USD while the Omit Concealer pencil, retails for $16USD and comes only in one color unlike its pan form.
- Aurora-white; good for a mod look or to whiten the waterline.
- Dahlia-shimmery purple with a touch of plum; not as smooth as the other pencils, has a tendency to skip and sheer out more when blended.
- Fig-shimmery dark emerald; very pretty!
- Patine-slight shimmer, a gray that leans just a tad towards the blue but not much. Also a good brow pencil for salt and pepper hair.
- Smudge-dark brown; a neutral dark every day brown. Can be used as a smoky eye when black is too much.
- Soot-black; dark and sooty.
- Omit-medium peach beige; great as an eye brightener, lip line highlight, and spot concealing for medium to medium dark skintones.
These pencils are a bit harder than the average pencil because they provide a precision application. The best way to use this is to draw or dot then take a sable brush and blend to the desired sheerness. If you want more color just apply more and blend, then top with an eyeshadow similar in color for a long lasting effect. As a waterliner I find they do not irritate the eyes but staying power really varies. If you have allergies and I mean due to weather caused ones, this will not stay.
Out of all these pencils, the most I get use out of is the Omit because as a lip line highlight; it works wonders. I can skip regular lip liner. Just make sure to blend it well especially if you are about to have a photo taken. You don't want an obvious circle around your lips.
All in all, these are nice pencils to have if you are a a collector of pencils like some people. :p The only drawback could be the hardness of these which can be a bit too much for sensitive eyes, although, warming them up between the fingers before application does help. Nice pencils!
