Creating a Plump Lip Shape Easily and Quickly

Changing your lip shape is similar to changing your eye shape, the smallest details in application can make the biggest difference.  You don’t have to do the ombré lip look to get the plump pucker.  All you have to do is create the illusion of luscious lips with just one product— your concealer!

Face it, in a perfect world you would have all the time in the world to apply your makeup; from highlighting and contouring to creating the sexy lips.  But, defining your lips can take some time.  And when time isn't on your side, to achieve just a little bit of perfection takes just seconds.  All you need to know are the details.

First let’s get to know your lips and its basic shape.

The basic shape is something like the one above but with some variation.

Sectioning the Lips

Divide the lips into three sections like I am dividing the eye.  You have the outer ends and the center.  The center is where you can emphasize the shape of the “cupid’s bow” (philtrum) or create a larger bottom lip.  But be aware that drawing too much outside the lines can look unnatural especially if you are dealing with the real life.  Fantasy life, do whatever lip shape you like!

Important Shape Changing Areas of Lips

The important parts are really the outer ends of your lips.  These areas can bring a sharp center focus to your lips by creating the illusion of a plump bottom lip without an over drawn lip line.

Concealer

Taking your concealer and a brush, apply concealer just on the outer bottom lip line.  You are actually concealing the bottom outer corner of the lips to bring attention to the center.

Next, take a bit of concealer and apply onto the top outer corner of the lips.  This will give an illusion of lift to the corners.

Before without shaping the lips.

The concealer shapes the lips. Plump and juicy!!  There you have it, the before and after of my lips which can easily be done on your lips too!

Before and after shaping the lips.

Sexy plump red lips doesn't necessarily have to involve ombré or gloss or any other product.  Just remember, you need to conceal the corners of your lips and you will have that perfect pout!

Hope this helped some of you!  As always, a mention of this blog gives an independent angel its wings and maybe a tube of lipstick!
