The Underrated Asian Beauty Masks

There are some beauty products which aren't fancy and they just work. Yet, many don't know about them. Here are three products that need to be noticed because they just make a person feel good.

Gik PRP Serum Collagen Repair and Hydrating Face Mask 21 sheets ($5 for 1 pack; 3 pack $15)

I have tried those name brand K Beauty masks which are neatly folded and wrapped individually. They usually cost about 3x's as much as this pack of 21 masks. Not individually wrapped but they are soaked in serum, in excess too. There are several types of these masks to cater to various skin types: acne, anti-aging, sensitive, moisturizing.

I choose moisturizing since it is the only one that is sold in a 3 pack, a total of 63 masks! I have normal to dry skin and on days when I just want to be a total couch potato, I will let this soak until it dries on my face. The result is glowing and moisturized skin.

I am not exaggerating when I say I love this. I have tried the fancy versions but I always return to this one because it feels good and actually leaves my skin soft and moist. No bullshit.

You can see that it is packed together. Even though it might be tedious to remove, there is a tab on the mask to separate it and open it. You get used to it. This is well worth the money and yes, the product is sold on Yami which I found has been the cheapest for a single pack. I have seen this at other Asian stores like Tesolife and, I think, a single bag costs about $20 which is more than a 3 pack at Yami!

The next 2 masks are for the eyes. They aren't the usual patch type mask but more of the restful type. If you have allergies and fighting watery eyes, you know how irritated and heated they can get especially in this summer heat.

GPP AGN (And Good Night) Peppermint Lavender Cooling Eye Mask Relieve Eye Fatigue 5 Counts ($6-$7)

This eye mask is made for the summer months. I have tried the heated ones from various brands and they help during the winter months, so you can think ahead.

This one comes in a five pack, individually wrapped. It doubles as an sleeping mask. I do fall asleep with this on, no harm, although when I wake up I can't find it sometimes! The ends loop around the ears while the main part begins to cool the eyes. They also help in cooling down the sinus area. It does have that minty cool feeling but really nothing strong.

I find this one a bit weak, truthfully. The smell is okay. I just can't smell the lavender much. To me it smells like some mint tea. Then again, I don't have a sophisticated nose.

In the end, it does its job as soothing the eyes and the area around it. It also costs half the price as the next product which is the BOMB!

Kobayashi Cooling and Soothing Eye Masks 5pcs ($11-$12)

This is the one to get if you have allergies or just have eyes that feel hot. I love these and I wish they came in a bigger pack. This one is wrapped individually AND again wrapped like a bag of potato chips; double wrapped. I guess it helps keep its minty coolness inside. There are no straps and it is a gel. Just place it on the eyes and feel the bliss. This one gives me good dreams and it stays on! I wake up with it still on my eyes and still soothing fresh. I hate to remove it so I put it on my forehead until I finish my coffee.

This cooling mask is worth every penny, I wish I had bought more!

Okay, so these are my underrated masks. Yes, I bought these at Yami (referral link and make sure to tick the box Fulfulled by Yami if you place an order). If you can't order at Yami or maybe try getting your parcel forwarded. I am not really sure how it works. However, if you are in Canada, Yami does have a fulfillment center there now.

Hope I have enlightened some of you to look past the usual masks!

A quiet little corner of beauty.
