Going Mad Over NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils

I always see these pencils at my Ulta but never got around to buying them.  Then, I bought one which was the lavender.  I went crazy and ordered the entire lot off of ebay!  I don't know what got into me, maybe it was the red pencil that was glaring at me on the NYX website.  You know I have a weakness for anything red that can be worn on the eyes!  I have all 28 pencils and here are the colors.

Top row (left to right):  Milk-pure white; Cottage Cheese-shimmer white; Pots & Pans-silver; Slate-shimmery dark grey; Black Bean-black; Yogurt-shimmery beige peach; and Pure Gold-shimmer amber gold.

Second row:  Gold-shimmer orange gold; Bronze-shimmery orange copper; Dark Brown-midnight brown; French Fries-shimmer midtone neutral brown; Iced Mocha-shimmer wheat brown; Hot Pink-pink that is hot; and Cherry-pink red.

Third row:  Yellow-yellow cream; Orange-brilliant orange, Horseradish-light metallic green; Lime-(labeled Lemon on mine) shimmery yellow green; Rocky Mountain Green-shimmery emerald green; Baby Blue-shimmery soft light blue; Electric Blue-shimmery brilliant blue w/silver microglitter.

Fourth row:  Pacific-shimmer lavender blue; Purple-shimmer blue purple, Purple Velvet-rich deep purple shimmer; Oyster-soft shimmery pink lavender; Lavender-metallic lavender; Strawberry Milk-metallic soft pink; and Rust-shimmer burgundy w/ just a touch of brown undertone.

Some of the names for these pencils sounds like my grocery list:  Yogurt, Milk, Cottage Cheese, Strawberry Milk.  And, these are the ones that make a good eyebase.  I admit though that they can crease on some eyes and a primer may be necessary.  I have been testing these out without any primer and since it is winter they have not creased with powder shadow on top.  The texture makes the powder shadow stick to them which I like in a pencil and it brings out the intensity of the color if using a similar color as the powder. You can use these pencils alone but they do sheer out and just give that glow on the lid when used on bare skin.

The Yellow pencil can be used as a neutralizer.  Oyster and Lavender are great eyebases for Asians or anyone that has enough yellow/olive/brown in their skin.  These colors will brighten the eyes for the powders on top without making them turn too brown or too warm.

These are a nice bunch of pencils for the price of $4.50 each.  And the variety of colors can be matched practically to any eyeshadow loose or pressed bringing another combination of textures that will drive you mad with experimentation!
