I have a habit of spending many minutes perusing the aisles of my local health food grocery store on the many beauty items. Some I find not so impressive and others catch my eye for their simplicity. One that caught my eye was Waxelene.
I received a sample, well actually it was the lip balm size which retails for 3.99. I knew as soon as I tried it, the size would not be big enough for my needs. I bought a tube size for $4.99 to keep in my purse and a big jar of it (9 oz.) for about $18. The jar is housed in a food jar. No fancy special container. (In fact, for a couple of days I couldn't find it because I accidentally stored it in the cupboard thinking it was my honey mustard dipping sauce!) Yes, I like this product! Why?
First of all, the ingredients are simple: organic soy oil, beeeswax, natural vitamin E oil, and organic rosemary oil. Second, it is multi-purpose. You can use it from head to toe. Use it as a moisturizer anywhere on the body; use it as a styling product for the hair ; use it as a makeup remover, etc. Third, it is petroleum free and cruelty free.
Most of all, if you need moisture with a no-nonsense approach, this will moisturize. The ingredients may make it sound greasy but it isn't at all. Upon application, depending on the weather, the texture could differ. Now, that it is winter, the product is a bit firm upon application but it easily spreads. The first few seconds it may feel greasy but it dries to a moisturized finish protecting the skin for hours and hours.
The versatility of this product has my mind thinking about some experimentation. I will have to see how this mixes with some other magic ingredients and pigments.
Even if you don't experiment or have an alchemy lab, Waxelene is a simple and effective moisturizer for any sex, any age, and any animal. If you are a skin care minimalist with normal to dry skin, this is a product to try.
