Twaddling Along: Trying to Sell Out to Being Broken

I thought you might like to know what has been happening beauty-wise after the start of the New Year.  Well, I feel just like Eric Cartman!!

Affiliate Links and Disclosures

Some of you may think I am being sleazy or just plain vague when it comes to affiliate links and disclosures.  You don't see any mentioned but see a button like this one:

Push at Your Own Risk

They are not affiliate links!  In fact I HAVE NONE!!! Therefore, I am not being vague. I am being truthful.  However, I do ask you to mention this blog to the brands because I think it is important for them to know every consumer should be appreciated even if they don't have 100,000 bought followers on other instant social media sites.  It also takes a lot of effort to write up an original post with good content. Don't get me wrong, I know the Instagram pix of the various makeup looks take a minimum of 2 hours just for makeup application alone and another 2 hours to take that "instant" picture.

But, I like writing more than bullshitting myself and others with some fake beauty. I have to look at my face without any makeup on and learn to feel confident and not to feel overpowered by the myth that beauty is based just on some unachievable perfection.  This is the reason why Olivia Sr. gets no diffusion! And, at times I feel bad for her but at the same time she doesn't feel comfortable either.  How can you know what the makeup really looks like when it doesn't look real?

So, that is my disclosure.

Trying to Affiliate Myself

The past couple of months have been funny.  It is like cosmic forces are just working against me or they have put up this fence to prevent me from getting affiliations.

First, there have been offers to become affiliated with certain brands; two of them to mention are Sig*ma and Too Fa*ced.  You might think, "you are crazy not to say yes." Maybe, I am but I don't even buy those brands and to ask you to buy something I don't buy not only makes me a sell-out, it would probably give me an ulcer from doing something I didn't want to do!  Also, I won't make money off of these brands when every other instagrammer and tuber has their affiliate links begging you to buy.

Okay, so who did I want to sell out to? It was a site which sold many pro brands or brands I love to talk about and buy. To become an affiliate was only by INVITATION. First time I tried, the email bounced back.  I thought it was a fluke!  I tried a month later, my second email bounced back!  Two times is a coincidence and I kept it at that. The third time worked like a charm!  Didn't bounce back!

I believe I don't qualify because I haven't heard from them at all. I am telling you this because you know how something happens after you tell everyone it didn't work. Maybe, this is the case. Anyway, even if I don't qualify, it has come to the point where I don't feel rejected anymore because after the many years of being rejected by brands; there is nothing left in me to reject.  I have kept the blog going without becoming a sell out in the 7 years and I have been able to be myself!  This alone makes me happy because I can be my snarky self!👏👌👍  (Update: I have been declined. 😢 Updated again: This is ironic since they wanted my RCMA post!!!)
